TweetAugust 7, 2011 – According to reports a multi-vehicle crash killed one person and involved six vehicles.
According to Huntington Beach police a two vehicle crash occurred on Adams Avenue that led to another four vehicle crash. The two car collision killed one driver and injured another. The two car collision occurred at approximately 12:00 p.m. in the vicinity of west of Bushard Street.
The second crash involving four cars occurred approximately 45 minutes after the first collision. According to Lt. Brian Seitz the collision remains under investigation, with one being a full speed crash. The driver that died in the first crash has been identified as Mary Therese Ehrenfeld age 79, who was driving a Buick Regal sedan and was a resident of Huntington Beach, according to Huntington Beach Police.
The victim injured in the two car crash has been identified as Cynthia Lynn Kelber age 60, who was driving a Jeep Cherokee. Kelber was transported to Hoag Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
There were no other passengers in either of the vehicles in the two car collision. The four car collision occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the vicinity of east of Bushard Street and was caused by a driver in a car rear ending a pickup truck on Adams Avenue.
According to Huntington Beach Police Officer Brad Smiley the rear end collision caused the pickup truck to hit the car in front of it and that car to hit the fourth car in a chain reaction accident. Officer Smiley stated, two people were transported to the hospital, one a 9 year old boy to be treated for injuries. There were no serious injuries in the four car pileup.
