TweetI just returned from San Francisco and Dallas am back in Oakland, I had to talk to my lawyer. Here is some car accident, criminal defense and DUI related news for you to ponder…It’s too bad there isn’t some mechanism built in to the human brain that prevents a person from engaging in any behavior that would harm or endanger a child. Tragically, children are born to unfit parents every day and not all of them divorce or seek a family law lawyer. As an aside this San Francisco DUI attorney is also a top notch criminal defense one.
In Jacksonville a little 5 year old girl took over the wheel of her father’s 2010 Camaro when he passed out cold as they drove down the street. She tried to steer the car off the road but it flew across the road, and had to be dodged by other drivers on the highway.
A sheriff’s report stated that when they arrived at the scene of the accident, police found Mark Endicot Jackson Jr., age forty, unresponsive and staring upward. He later admitted to police he had taken Xanax and Oxycodone earlier that day. Someone may need a good DUI lawyer or criminal defense attorney before long.
Dana Treen wrote the story posted on May 4, 2011. for The Florida Times Union (Jacksonville.com) news website, under the headline, “Jacksonville girl, 5, takes her father’s wheel in DUI case.”
Treen quoted Stephanie Bailey, 19, who was forced to maneuver around the Camaro as it lurched into her lane, “An angel was watching me.”
Treen also noted that the little girl’s nose and lower lip were bleeding when police got to the scene.
After the slowly moving car jumped the curb, Treen writes, it crashed over a parking sign before coming to a stop. Bailey said the girl and her father were locked inside the car, but she got the 5 year old to open the door. The little girl told Bailey she was trying to get the car off the road. Oh by the way if you are in Dallas and you find that you need a leading v then I can endorse this particular Dallas car accident attorney in this area.
Bailey was quoted as saying, “She didn’t look that strong to be able to steer a car like that.”
Treen added that a family member came to fetch the little girl.
Sitting in jail on Tuesday night in lieu of bail, Mark Endicot Jackson Jr. was charged with driving DUI while accompanied by a minor, and driving under the influence and causing damage, careless driving, and driving without he or his daughter wearing a seat belt, according to Treen’s report.
If this guy has any brains at all he’ll kiss the ground and thank God he didn’t kill or maim anyone, including his own child.
